The Fete this year will be on Sunday July 1st. As usual it will start at 12.0pm.
We aim to make it an inexpensive and fun family afternoon out. Entry is only £1 for adults and 50p for children. In central arena we will have our very popular dog show and children’s races and our main attraction – The Essex dog Show. With 10 breeds of dogs and their handlers, the team carry out 2 x 30 minute displays. The many different exercises demonstrated show they are not just a dog agility team. Britain’s longest established and leading dog display team leave nothing to chance when it comes to giving the audience an outstanding display with a truly unique and fascinating commentary.
All the dogs in the display team are trained at the Essex Dog Training Centre, Brentwood which two years ago was voted by the public ‘The Best Dog Training Facility in the UK’.
It will be great fun! All our favourite attractions will be there as well, including Bungee Jumping, the Bouncy Castle, Hamster Rollers and Wipe out with electric Go-Karts and our very own local Ferrets. The stalls include those run by many local businesses with Ice cream and Candy Floss and sensibly priced food run by the Fete Committee.
We are always looking for helpers, particularly on the day. Suggestions and ideas are all very welcome. Give me a call and I will give you details of our next committee meeting.

Would you like a Fete stall?
Are you interested in having a stall at Shenley’s popular village Fete this year? Our Fete is held on Harris Lane Playing Field and this year will be on Sunday 1st July starting at 12 noon and lasting until 4.45pm. Attendance is always extremely good with visitors coming from outlying towns and villages. We have a good reputation for being friendly, traditional and not overly commercial. All our profit after expenses is donated to local clubs and good causes – we were able to donate £5,200 last year.
Pitches cost £25 for general stalls and £10 for Charity stalls (you need to be a registered Charity).
Pitches are 15ft x 15ft or 4.57m x 4.57m – No tables, gazebos or electricity are provided.
If tables are needed hire tables can be ordered at a cost of £8.50 per table.
Businesses need to contact me as commercial rates are different.

To secure a slot it is a good idea to book well in advance as we try to ensure a good variety of stalls and do not take multiple bookings of similar types of stalls ie. cake, jewellery or tombola stalls.
